Honor Magic Vs: Sony has launched a foldable phone with a camera

Honor announced their second foldable smartphone today i.e. November 23rd. The newcomer Honor Magic Vs comes as the successor of the existing Honor Magic V model.

Honor has confirmed that this latest foldable device will also be launched in the global market in the first quarter of 2023. Incidentally, an 'Ultimate' variant of the model in question has also been marketed, which supports a stylus called the Magic-Pen. However, the stylus option is missing in the standard version. This 'second generation' foldable phone was unveiled today alongside the Honor 80 series. Let's know all the details about Honor Magic Vs smartphone now.

Honor Magic Vs Specifications

The newly announced Honor Magic VS smartphone comes with a lightweight gearless hinge. This hinge is manufactured using single-piece casting technology. Therefore, the number of supporting structure components used in the successor hinge has been reduced from 92 to 4 compared to its predecessor. However, despite the reduced component count, the device will be quite durable and robust. Its aerospace-grade material-touting hinge is claimed to be able to be folded a total of 400,000 times. That is, this device can be folded 100 times a day for more than 10 years. This Honor phone will offer glass and vegan leather finishing.

Incidentally, the ultimate variant of the Honor Magic VS phone supports stylus input called the Magic-Pen. However, it does not have a silo for the stylus like the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 4.

Supports ratio. Both displays support 10-bit color depth, up to 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and up to 1920 Hz PWM dimming technology.

The rumored 5G handset features a Qualcomm Snapdragon Plus Gen 1 chipset for multitasking and enhanced performance. The phone comes with a dual TEE (Trusted Execution Environment) security system, co-developed with Qualcomm for hardware-level security. It runs on Android 12-based MagicOS 7.0 custom skin.

The Honor Magic Vs smartphone has a triple rear camera setup. Those cameras are – 54-megapixel Sony IMX800 primary sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide unit with auto-focus macro lens and an 8-megapixel snapper with 3x telephoto lens. A 16-megapixel selfie shooter can be seen on the secondary display of the device. However, there is no front-facing camera on the internal display.

For connectivity the handset includes – dual SIM slots, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GNSS, NFC, and USB 3.1 Gen 1 (Type-C) port.
