Maruti Suzuki holds the title of the best passenger car in the world. The demand for their models is so high for bringing relatively cheap cars in any segment. By launching cars like the Alto 800, they once hit the market.
However, the Indo-Japanese company is still in the back row in the race to bring electric cars to market. Many people think that even if it is late to bring the car, they will launch the EV model at a cheap price i.e. less than 10 lakhs.
But
Maruti Suzuki India has practically poured water on this blind faith of the
buyers. Chairman of the organization RC Bhargava has made it clear that they
have no plans to bring an electric car priced below 1 million. Because the
cheap EV market is not that good. Again various options are also available in
this segment. So they are discouraged to bring the car at that price.
A
model that has to be charged daily only gives customers an experience of irony.
Again, their price is not that cheap. So Bhargava's statement is very clear in
this regard. He also expressed his desire to develop electric charging
infrastructure. It is known that 2025 Maruti Suzuki will bring electric cars in
the market. It will be introduced in the mid-size SUV segment. The company has
planned to launch six models by 2031. Let's find out what Maruti Suzuki's first
electric car will look like.
Maruti Suzuki eVX
In
early 2023, Maruti Suzuki was spotted doing a test run of their eVX concept
electric model. It gets the traditional 17-inch silver alloy wheels. However,
the production version may be offered with more advanced wheels. The SUV model
gets a rear view mirror as a feature. With which the Baleno is currently
similar. There is also a 360 degree camera.
Again, like the Swift, the presence of the door handle on the C panel of the rear door of the battery car has been noticed. The design of the front and rear fenders has been made muscular. As the entire body is wrapped in camouflage, there is little to know about the exterior design. With a 60 kWh battery pack, the Suzuki eVX is expected to offer a full range of 500 to 520 km. The market will see competition from the likes of Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra XUV400, MG ZS EV and the upcoming Tata Curvv EV.
