This is the country's first 5G region, and see which cities are rolling out the service

The long wait is over! Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the 5G service in India today on October 1, making many speculations come true. That is, from today India also joins the list of countries where the latest generation network services are available.

In fact, as previously announced, the Indian Mobile Congress or IMC event has started today at Delhi's Pragati Maidan. And it was at this event that Modi officially launched the much-awaited network service. He arrived at the event to take detailed information on various topics and is said to have spoken to school children in Maharashtra through video calls using the Jio 5G network. But now the question is, can the 5G network be used from today? Or do you need a new SIM to use the service? Let us now know two or four essential things in this regard.

5G cannot be used from today even if it is launched

Not everyone will be able to use 5G services from today immediately after the launch. In this case, you may still have to wait a few days or a few months to get the high-speed network at hand. Initially, the service of Jio and Airtel will be available in 13 metro cities like Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Pune and Chennai.

Incidentally, using 5G does not require a new SIM card at the moment. You can use the new service with the old SIM on the phone with 5G support. In this case, you only need to make sure that the smartphone has support for the required spectrum brand.

Delhi Airport is now 5G Ready

Note that Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport has already been made 5G ready. As a result, passengers will now get better network connection speed and signal at this location. However, service coverage will not be available in the entire area of the airport. 5G network services can currently be enjoyed at Experience Domestic Departure, International Arrival Baggage Area and Multi Label Parking Area.
