Gujarat-based electric two-wheeler startup Arya Automobiles is about to revolutionize the Indian two-wheeler electric vehicle market. The company is gearing up to launch a high-powered electric motorcycle named Commander.

As the market is flooded with electric scooters, the arrival of such e-bikes is giving hope to the buyers. Going by the teaser images released by the company, it is speculated that it will debut as a battery-powered cruiser bike. Arya Automobiles has informed that the new model will be introduced in the market by the end of this year.

The Commander electric motorcycle will have a 3,000 watt 72 volt motor and a 3.7 kWh lithium ion battery. It will take 4 to 5 hours to fully charge. Looking at the battery capacity, the range is expected to be close to 150 km on a full charge. It will appear in a total of eight color options. Apart from this, no further information about the upcoming e-bike has been revealed. Notably, Arya Automobiles, part of the Arya Group, was established in 2019. Their headquarters and factory are located in Surat, Gujarat.

Currently the company has set its sights on creating affordable powerful electric two-wheelers. In this regard Tushar Chhavya, Director, Arya Automobiles said, “Arya plans to build electric bikes for people of all ages and groups and build high-quality yet affordable electric vehicle infrastructure across India. Hopefully we can reach our target very soon.”

Chhavya added, "We are following the government's guidelines for manufacturing and selling electric vehicles." The company claims that the vehicle parts will be manufactured using indigenous technology instead of importing them. They have even arranged a service station in their showroom. Incidentally, according to the information provided by Fader, a car companies association, a total of 2,31,338 units of electric two-wheelers were sold in this country in the financial year 2021-22. It was 41,046 units in 2020-21, a growth of 464 percent in sales last fiscal.
