Renault to sell cheap electric cars in India According to sources, Renault will create a separate supply-chain ecosystem for electric vehicles in the country. Venkata ram Mamilla Allée, the company's managing director and CEO, confirmed the launch of affordable battery-powered cars in India. Incidentally, Renault had expressed its desire to launch low-cost electric cars in the country even before this. It could be the electric version of the company's best-selling Kwid hatchback. It is sold as Dacia Spring EV in Chinese and European markets.

Referring to the launch of electric cars in India, Mamilla Allée said, “Renault does not want to burden the buyers with the additional cost of buying an electric car. The company wants to manufacture cars with local equipment. Which will help the company to keep the price of the car low. We need a lot of local suppliers to keep prices competitive.”

We are a little embarrassed that our eco-system in India is not fully prepared yet.” Commenting on the delay in bringing the Renault EV, he commented, “We want to be very prudent. Middle class and upper middle class are our target. We will ensure that they can buy cars at an affordable price.”
