As the demand for SUVs in India increases, Maruti Suzuki is slowly taking away the market share from Tata Motors.
They are making installments by updating one model after another. Maruti is also launching new cars. The Brezza has now occupied the top spot, displacing the long-held Tata Nexon. It sold 16,543 units last month. Again the company's recently launched Fronx has also pushed the Nexon ahead. Let it be known here that Tata Motors is not sitting on its hands to recover its lost land. They have already started preparations for the launch of the facelift version of the Nexon.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx on sale in July
Maruti Suzuki Fronx has
hit the shelves of the Indian car industry with its own demand since its
launch. The SUV sold 13,220 units in July. Which is more than many famous
models sold in this country. Needless to say, with the launch of such a model,
Maruti Suzuki is trying to understand the preferences of Indian buyers. And
they are seeing the limits of their ability to meet demand.
Rivals of Maruti Fronx
Fronx's arch-rival Tata
Nexon found its way into the garages of 12,349 new buyers last month. As a
result, it has dropped to the fourth position in the list of best-selling SUVs.
Another popular micro SUV of Tata, Punch, occupied the fifth place. 12,019
units sold. Hyundai Creta (14,062 units) is the second best selling SUV after
Brezza.
The sixth place is occupied by Hyundai Venue. It sold a total of 10,062 units. Kia Seltos took the seventh spot with sales of 9,740 units. Next comes the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara (9,079 units). Hyundai's newly-launched Exter was placed at number eight with sales of 7,000 units. The ninth and tenth positions are occupied by Mahindra XUV700 and Thar respectively. Their sales volume was 6,176 units and 5,265 units respectively.
