Nokia has been releasing teasers for the launch of a new 5G smartphone in the Indian market for the past few days. Although, the company did not mention the name of the phone in the teaser,
but ever since the matter came to light, it was speculated that the upcoming device might debut as the Nokia G42. But today, the HMD Global-affiliated brand has officially confirmed that they will take the wraps off the Nokia G42 5G in the country on September 11. Besides, the microsite of the phone has also gone live on Amazon (Amazon India). Let's find out what information has come up so far about the upcoming Nokia phone.
Nokia
G42 5G is coming to the Indian market this week Although the Nokia G42 5G is a
new smartphone for India, it has already been launched in the European market.
After the Nokia X30 5G that debuted in February this year, the G42 will be
Nokia's second 5G-enabled phone for India. The phone's microsite is now live on
Amazon, indicating that it will hit the market soon.
Specifications of Nokia G42
According
to Amazon's microsite, the Nokia G42 5G will feature a 6.56-inch waterdrop
notch display, which will offer HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The
device will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 480 Plus chipset and up to 11GB
of RAM (including virtual RAM). It will also feature an OZO playback-powered
loudspeaker.
In
terms of cameras, the phone will feature an 8-megapixel selfie camera on the
front and a 50-megapixel primary camera on the back. The main sensor will also
be accompanied by a macro sensor and a depth lens. The Nokia G42 5G is
officially confirmed to get two years of Android OS upgrades and three years of
security updates. The device will be available in Purple and So Gray color
variants.
Although
not mentioned on the Amazon page, it is already known that the Nokia G42 5G
packs 128GB of in-built storage and a 5,000mAh capacity battery, which supports
20W wired charging. It will include a side-facing fingerprint scanner for
security. For now, no information about the price of the device has surfaced
yet.
