Google is going to shut down many of its Assistant features in the new year. Google said in their blog that they are going to stop many features of Google Assistant including voice commands this year. Note that Google Assistant's voice commands are the most used. However, 17 facilities including this popular feature will no longer be available.

Google said in their blog that they are prioritizing user experience and
understanding their needs. Google said that they are investing in the
technology that users are using.

Now you will be able to
cast audiobooks from your phone but not play or control them.
The facility of setting
media alarm, radio alarm, music alarm through Google Assistant is being
stopped.
Cookbook recipes cannot
be transferred from one device to another through Google Assistant, but you can
search for recipes on YouTube with Google Assistant.
Smart speakers and smart
devices will not have the ability to manage stopwatches.
E-mails, video and audio
messages cannot be sent through voice commands, but calling and text messages
will be facilitated.
Events cannot be
rescheduled via Google Calendar voice commands.
Assistant driving mode
has been disabled in Google Maps, meaning media control, calling and messaging
will not be available through Assistant in driving mode.
Calling can be done
through speaker and smart display but caller ID will not be visible.
