The year 2023 is not long to end, the last big festival of the year, Christmas, will be celebrated in just three days.
Preparations have already started – people of this country are also buying various lights, Christmas trees, Santa hats etc. for happiness. In this situation, the American space agency NASA has shared a special picture of the space, which looks like nature itself has joined the festival. In fact, almost every festival, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration releases pictures of Earth's celebrations, sometimes such fake pictures go viral in the name of NASA. In that case, in the official image shared by the company, the colors and shapes of some constellations in space may look like a bright Christmas tree. And from the scientific community to the netizens are surprised to see this.
Cluster
of stars in space is like a Christmas tree, NASA brought forward the bright
picture
Infinite
space is always fascinating and a treasure trove of mystery! In this case, a
recent image shared by NASA shows a cluster of small stars called 'NGC 2264',
located 2.5 thousand light-years away from Earth but their brightness
practically creates the portrait of a Christmas tree. The white and blue stars
on the green background look like Christmas tree decorations, which is why NASA
named this constellation the 'Christmas Tree Cluster'.
In
this way, NASA has clicked a unique picture of the star
NASA,
with its Chandra X-ray Observatory, clicked X-ray images from the cluster of
blue and white stars. In this case, the green gas nebula or nebula is also
visible in the image, which is a major part of this cluster. The gas was
captured by the observatory's WIYN 0.9-meter telescope, which receives funding
from the National Science Foundation. Meanwhile, the rest of the white stars
visible in the photo are part of the 'Two Micron All Sky' survey, which is used
for location mapping.
There
is more story behind it
But
to make the constellations look like their emotional Christmas tree, the space
agency rotated the image around 160 degrees clockwise. That is, the cluster,
unlike normal photographs – bears the exact colors of a Christmas tree, but is
actually positioned horizontally in space. As a result, rotating it looks
exactly like a Christmas tree, and the top of the tree is visible.
There are more surprises. It is known that these stars, which appear small in the image, are larger than the size of the Sun and are between 1 million and 5 million years old. Although some stars are very small, one-tenth the mass of the Sun. Incidentally, since the lifespan of stars is billions of years, this imaginary Christmas tree cluster will be visible in space for a long time.
