One of the most popular sub-brands of Xiaomi, Redmi brings their high-performance or gaming smartphones to the market under the K series.
The brand launched its Redmi K70 lineup in November last year. In the meantime, rumors about the successor Redmi K80 series have started. However, the company has not yet said anything. But before that, some interesting information about the Redmi K80 series has emerged from a report.
The
Redmi K80 lineup may feature the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 series processor
As
reported by IT Home, revealed by tipster Digital Chat Station, Redmi is
currently working on two new models under the K-series – the standard Redmi K80
and the Redmi K80 Pro. Although, no specific launch date has been mentioned, it
is believed to be launched by the end of 2024. Or after the new flagship
Snapdragon processor hits the market.
Last
year's Redmi K70 used the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.
Hence, it is believed that the Xiaomi K80 series could also be powered by
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for better performance.
Also,
reports suggest that the company is focusing on two important areas for this
upcoming series of phones. Which is battery life and design. It is rumored that
the K80 series of phones will use an “ultra-large-capacity high-density silicon
anode battery”, indicating an upgrade over the Redmi K70's 5,000mAh capacity
battery. The Redmi K80 series is expected to retain the design of last year's
K70, which includes a 2K screen, metal mid frame and glass body.
However, it should be noted that this information is not officially recognized yet, so we will have to wait for Redmi's announcement to be sure about their accuracy. Although, the leaked information provides a glimpse of what the Xiaomi K80 series can offer, the official information regarding the specifications, features and release date may differ.
