Special warning for citizens of the government, be careful if you use Google Chrome

Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-IN) has issued an alert for Google Chrome users.

This government agency said that it has found new security issues in some versions of the Google Chrome web browser, which may cause problems in protecting users' data and information.

The government agency has listed this Chrome vulnerability as 'High Severity' in its report. They also said that by exploiting these vulnerabilities in Chrome, hackers could remotely send malicious code to a system.

The affected versions of Google Chrome are –

Versions prior to 114.0.5735.133 for Mac and Linux.

Versions of Windows prior to 114.0.5735.133/134.

Why do these problems exist in Google Chrome?

CERT-IN reported that these issues were caused by a variety of factors within Chrome, particularly the free use of autofill payments, WebRTC, and Web XR, and type confusion in V8. And these become dangerous only when a user unknowingly visits a webpage designed to attack.
